Put Some Spring In Your Step & In Your Look

If “April showers bring May flowers” as the old saying goes, the Houston metro area will look like a florist in a month or so. Along with those blooms of Spring comes their pollen and Hue Salon has a great idea for your home just in time for the new season. We also have a simple braid idea that gives you instructions for a twist that says “Welcome Spring!” Flowers not included :)

We heard about this fabulous Eucalyptus bath and shower tradition from a friend who travels Italy every year. Locals there had fresh sprigs of Eucalyptus casually tied with ribbon or twine onto their showerheads or next to the faucet in their tubs. When taking a hot bath or shower, the steam makes the fragrance amazing, filling the bath with a refreshing and cleansing aroma…and it looks beautiful. It’s the natural way to clear out your stuffy head when the dusty Houston pollenated air gets you down. Your guests will love it, too.

Better yet, it’s inexpensive and easy to do! It smells clean and fresh, and makes your morning or evening bath ritual an even more relaxing experience. The sprigs or branches will last for weeks and even after they dry, the shape holds and the smell lingers. Try tying them with a colored ribbon, which is easy to take off, for added spring color…or you can use jute or twine for a country-esque feel.

Looking for a great twist for your spring look? Here’s a fun, twisty wrapped braid that looks adorable on anyone and is simple to create at home. Follow the instructions on the diagram below and remember, there are no mistakes when it comes to the final look. Make it your own, whether you prefer a tighter more clean braid or a messier, casual braid, this style works for just about anyone. Add some flower stems, like fresh Daisies or Black-eyed-Susans for a bit of boho-chic.
